Site Design Group, Ltd. – Project Designer – Chicago, IL Site Design Group, Ltd. seeks a Project Designer to develop and lead design work for landscape architecture projects.

Responsibilities

Serve as point person for creating graphic layouts at all project stages.

Produce design drawings in varying styles, including hand drawing and computer graphics.

Create standard design presentation templates and layouts digitally and by hand.

Review, edit, and revise working drawings with Designers, Project Managers, and Principals.

Lead construction documentation and support construction cost estimating.

Develop and maintain office graphic standards.

Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and layouts.

Assist with marketing materials such as public meeting flyers, business development collateral, event invitations, and outreach.

Edit and curate the photographic image library for the office, website, marketing materials, and award submissions.

Produce and lead design graphics and three‑dimensional renderings.

Support construction administration: track and review construction submittals, participate in site visits, and conduct field reports.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (or equivalent).

Experience creating original designs and communicating design ideas through sketches, renderings, and graphic communication.

On‑site analysis, background research, and documentation of site conditions.

Designing presentations and construction document layouts.

Managing and organizing project documents.

Marketing and proposal preparation (flyers, collateral, outreach materials).

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, ArcGIS, Microsoft Project, SketchUp, Bentley MicroStation, Bluebeam, Revit, Enscape, Lumion, Morpholio Trace, and TopHatch.

Preparing detailed renderings from specifications and instructions given by Senior Designers.

Surveying sites.

Advising on environmental conservation matters.

Discussing requirements with clients, writing reports, and producing 40 hours/week, $45,531 to $85,000 per year.

Must also have authority to work permanently in the U.S.
