Director of Manufacturing Operations Location Illinois.

I am currently partnered exclusively with a Personal Care Contract Manufacturer, in search for an energetic Director of Manufacturing Operations.

The Director of Plant Operations will report directly to the COO and is responsible for all operations activities. You will be empowered to lead and develop a growing team to achieve operational & quality excellence.

Performance metrics include managing direct labor costs, monthly manufacturing & on time delivery goals, team development and process efficiency/improvement. Area of responsibility include production planning, warehousing, manufacturing & packaging production.

*This is an onsite, full time position.

Essential Requirements

10+ years Operation Management experience in the Personal Care industry, preferably in Contract Manufacturing.

Demonstrated leadership and knowledge in a large scale manufacturing environment.

Must have strong understanding of US FDA CFR 111, NSF 455 cGMP Certification, GFCO Certification, SQF Certification. Knowledge of ERP systems and Warehouse management software.

Proficiency in ERP/MRP Systems, Microsoft programs.

Masters Degree in Business Management, Engineering or a Science related field is preferred.

Bilingual, as a minimum must speak Spanish at a conversational level.

Responsibilities

Understand the production process while striving to improve the standards of services we offer and effectively communicate to customers regarding company capabilities.

Direct daily company operations to meet budget, production and sales goals.

Motivate and mentor production plant management staff, set the example through participation and involvement in, and oversight of appropriate departments.

Establish performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for senior plant management.

Focus on automation of the plant operation that will drive efficiency in daily plant operations and improve staff utilization.

Ensures processes are in place to maximize departmental efficiencies to ensure that finished goods are delivered on time in the most cost-effective and compliant manner.

Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for company production capabilities and services.

Communicate performance of the plant to Sales Team and Executive Management on a regular basis.

Responsible for allocation of labor and specialized equipment to maximize production output in relation to production plan.

Build positive relationships across all functions, partnering closely with all internal stakeholders.

Direct execution of operating policies to support overall company objectives.

Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues.

Responsible for training full time, part time and temporary staff.

Ensure a high level of safety, quality standards and sanitization culture across the organization.

Track quality of the beauty products in line with companywide quality systems, procedures and processes.

Other duties that are required or assigned by executive Operations team.
