Position Overview Reporting to the Manager of Inbound Operations, the Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient inbound operations within the Distribution Center. This role is responsible for processing system receipts, maintaining inbound tracking and reporting, and supporting productivity and inventory accuracy within the receiving function.
This individual will work closely with Receiving leadership and cross‑functional partners to ensure inbound shipments, purchase orders, and transfers are processed accurately and on time. The role may also provide support to reverse logistics and return processing during periods of operational need.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working with systems and operational data in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Key Accountabilities Inbound Processing & Inventory Accuracy
Process and close purchase order receipts and inbound transfers within the warehouse management system
Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and accurate system transactions
Track inbound shipments and monitor receipt progress to ensure timely completion
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between expected and received quantities
Reporting & Operational Tracking
Generate daily and end‑of‑day receiving reports
Maintain inbound tracking logs and PO receipt trackers
Monitor open receipts and transfers to ensure timely follow‑up and resolution
Provide visibility to leadership on inbound status, delivery updates, and receiving performance
Operational Coordination
Coordinate inbound delivery appointments and communicate scheduling updates
Support communication across departments regarding inbound shipments and receipt status
Create documentation and labels needed for inbound shipments and transfers
Process & Floor Support
Partner with Receiving leadership to support productivity tracking and operational process improvements
Provide support for physical receiving activities when needed
Assist with reverse logistics or returns processing during peak periods or operational needs
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders
Comfortable working with warehouse management systems and operational reporting tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience in distribution center operations, inventory control, or receiving preferred
Experience working with WMS, ERP, or inventory systems is a plus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
