Folds of Honor is seeking a dynamic, growth-oriented, and mission-driven Director of Business Development to accelerate revenue expansion across the Minnesota region. This role is responsible for achieving defined growth targets through new corporate partnerships, foundation funding, and executive-level individual giving, while stewarding and growing existing relationships.

Primary Job Function

Identifies, engages, cultivates, solicits, and stewards corporate partners, foundations, and executive-level donors to expand financial support for Folds of Honor in Minnesota. Responsible for achieving annual growth targets through disciplined portfolio management.

Essential Functions

  1. Develops and executes a strategic revenue growth plan for Minnesota.
  2. Identifies, qualifies, and closes new corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and major gifts.
  3. Manages and grows a portfolio of corporate, foundation, and executive-level individual donors.
  4. Achieves defined annual growth targets, including new and renewable revenue.
  5. Cultivates executive-level relationships with CEOs, C-suite leaders, and foundation board members.
  6. Prepares customized sponsorship proposals and grant requests.
  7. Lead sponsorship acquisition and retention efforts for the chapter’s two flagship events.
  8. Negotiates multi-year partnership agreements.
  9. Implements strategies to increase year-over-year partner investment.
  10. Collaborates with the Executive Director and Board to secure introductions.
  11. Maintains disciplined pipeline management and forecasting.
  12. Serves as an ambassador within Minnesota’s business and philanthropic community.
  13. All other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
  2. 5+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, or business development.
  3. Proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue growth targets.
  4. Ability to engage executive-level decision-makers.
  5. Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills.
  6. Strategic thinker with strong organizational discipline.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Passion for the mission of Folds of Honor.
  9. Ability to manage priorities independently and drives results

Communication Requirements

  1. Ability to write professional reports and proposals.
  2. Ability to speak effectively before executives and community groups.

Physical Requirements

  1. Mobility to travel and attend meetings and events.
  2. Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
