A privately owned, globally recognized luxury hotel in New York City seeks a Director of Sales to steward and expand revenue within one of two highly specialized verticals:

Diplomatic & International Government

This is a senior, revenue-producing role for an established luxury sales executive who understands discretion, cultural fluency, and the art of relationship stewardship at the highest levels.

The property is internationally regarded for its design pedigree, privacy, and uncompromising service standards. Its clientele includes global tastemakers, industry leaders, dignitaries, and ultra‑high‑net‑worth travelers who expect absolute refinement and seamless execution.

The Mandate

The Director of Sales will serve as both strategist and ambassador — cultivating meaningful, long‑term partnerships while protecting rate integrity and brand positioning.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Direct ownership and expansion of high‑value accounts within either Entertainment or Diplomatic sectors
  • Strategic production of suites, long‑term residencies, and complex VIP stays
  • Representation of the hotel within influential industry and international circles
  • Close collaboration with Revenue Management and Executive Leadership on pricing, segmentation, and inventory strategy
  • Detailed forecasting and thoughtful pipeline management

This is an active selling role requiring presence, credibility, and deeply established relationships that translate into measurable impact.

The Profile

  • Extensive luxury hotel sales experience within flagship, independent, or five‑star environments
  • Demonstrated success within either:
    • Embassies, Consulates, Permanent Missions, Ministries, Royal Households, Global Institutions
  • Polished executive presence reflective of an iconic Manhattan address
  • Sophisticated communicator comfortable navigating confidential, high‑profile environments
  • Financially astute with a strong understanding of yield strategy and rate positioning
  • Entrepreneurial yet disciplined in approach
