Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Valid Driver’s License.

Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with direct supervision of full‑time staff, interns, and/or student staff.
Extensive experience in managing large‑scale events, conferences, and sporting events, including facility and venue operations, with demonstrated expertise in crowd management, safety, and security.
Experience in college athletics with prior facility and event management experience in a university setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Director is responsible for the daily operation, management, and safety of athletic events.
This position serves as the event manager for assigned sports.
In coordination with the Director of Athletic Facilities and Events, the incumbent manages and directs all aspects of events and assures the department provides a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities of this position include safety, coordination of event set‑ups, oversight of planned routine maintenance & repairs for assigned facilities, as well as the Athletic Facilities and Event Interns.
Develops and implements operating policies and procedures.
Develops and updates the Emergency Action Plan for athletic facilities in collaboration with the Emergency Management department.
Responsible for coordinating the use of athletic facilities for all scheduled University and community events.
Responsible for the production and modification of the Game Day Operations Manual and provides specific Game Day information in organized formats to all involved parties.
Will also coordinate with campus departments for facility support as needed (Police, Parking, Facilities Management, Recycling, Waste Management).
Need to be able to operate University vehicles so a valid driver’s license is required.
Other Work/Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to collaborate and take an active role in all athletic department facility operations.
Collaborates with fellow Facilities and Events staff on EAPs for athletic events.
Trains temp and student staff on safety and evacuation procedures.
Ability to evaluate and implement ideas and best practices for the safety and security of all athletic facilities and events.
Works diligently to promote a positive relationship with on‑campus and off‑campus groups.
All communications and work products produced must meet the expected high level of a professional.
Attention to detail is critical.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications Valid driver’s license is required, as well as a background check being conducted before an offer is made.
