Position: Salesforce Quality Analyst/Tester. Location: St. Paul, Minnesota. Telework Eligible: Yes. Salary Range: $37.07 - $61.14 per hour; $77,402 - $127,660 per year. Full-time. Department: Department of Human Services (DHS). Work Shift: Day Shift.

This position serves our partners at Minnesota’s largest state agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities As the Salesforce Quality Analyst/Tester you will provide professional knowledge and skills in information systems software testing, quality assurance and quality control of application software and systems. This includes the quality of the coding itself and not just the outcome of the application execution. The position promotes appropriate testing methodologies, striving to identify and manage defects in the software systems. Level 4 Quality Assurance Analyst/Testers have advanced expertise. Duties performed by this position are complex, and of a smaller scope than those led by senior Quality Assurance Analysis/Testing staff (ITS5). The QA staff at this level require some direction, coaching, and mentoring when leading the quality assurance/analysis for projects.

Location and Telework This position requires an employee to be onsite at 540 Cedar St., St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify, candidates must clearly show all of the following qualifications in their resume.

Four (4) years of experience in performing IT quality analysis functions.

Experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and software testing for large‑scale enterprise applications, including manual and/or automated testing, developing and executing test plans, test cases, regression testing, and defect tracking using industry‑standard tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, HP ALM, or similar).

Experience testing Salesforce applications, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or custom Salesforce implementations, with knowledge of objects, workflows, validation rules, and Apex triggers.

Experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies.

Experience identifying, documenting, and managing defects, including root cause analysis and coordination with developers and business analysts to ensure timely resolution.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.

Customer‑focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution‑oriented problem‑solving to deliver positive user experiences.

Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: master’s degree for 18 months of experience; bachelor’s degree for 1 year; associate’s degree for 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce testing tools and automation frameworks, such as Provar, Selenium, Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DX.

Experience performing Salesforce integration testing, including APIs, middleware integrations (MuleSoft), and data validation between Salesforce and external systems.

Experience conducting accessibility testing and security testing, including knowledge of WCAG standards and role‑based security validation within Salesforce.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Advanced experience leading Salesforce QA efforts for enterprise‑wide implementations, including test strategy development, risk analysis, and coordination across multiple workstreams.

Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder, or related Salesforce certification.

Experience with Salesforce performance and load testing, including validating governor limits, bulk data processing, and high‑volume transaction scenarios.

Experience mentoring QA staff and establishing QA standards, reusable test frameworks, and CI/CD validation processes within Salesforce DevOps pipelines.
