POSITION SUMMARY The Benefit Specialist for AtlanticCare will be responsible for:

Program Administration: Manage day‑to‑day operations for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.

Enrollment & Orientation: Conduct new‑hire orientations to explain benefit packages and guide employees through the enrollment process. Maintain the Oracle Fusion Health and Welfare system including QDRO’s, qualified life events, dependent verification, and other similar tasks.

Open Enrollment: Participate in annual open enrollment periods, prepare communication materials, and assist staff with plan changes.

Compliance: Ensure all programs follow federal and state laws such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Cross‑functional collaboration: Demonstrate departmental teamwork and flexibility by performing other duties as assigned. Coordinate and communicate regularly with the Shared Services Team, Talent Acquisition teams, and departmental leadership.

Support organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION:

Associates degree or equivalent of 5+ years of HR experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2+ year’s benefits experience required. Knowledge of online benefit administration required. Good interpersonal skills required. The candidate for this position is detail‑oriented and able to function independently. HRIS experience preferred. HR healthcare experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Position requires desk/computer work for a majority of the time. Some walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs are required. Position requires increased repetition in typing.
