NuCara Home Medical is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative for our Des Moines location.

This is an in-person position in our retail store at 219 E Main Street Marshalltown, and is not a remote position.

Who We Are NuCara Home Medical is Central Iowa's leading independent provider of Home Respiratory and Home Medical Equipment.

What We Do As a Customer Service Representative, you will work directly with patients in a retail setting. Job duties include working with patients and their caregivers both face-to-face and over the phone to meet their home medical equipment and supply needs, communicating with physicians, hospitals and other referral sources, and working with insurance companies in order to get equipment covered. In this role you will learn about a variety of home medical equipment and supplies, including home oxygen, hospital beds, wheelchairs and more. You will learn about coverage guidelines for various home medical equipment and supplies, how to educate patients and their caregivers on proper use, and how to troubleshoot when things don't quite go as expected.

Our standard hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Our patients sometimes have equipment needs outside of our regular business hours, and this position is required to participate in a telephone based on-call rotation, with some evening and weekend hours required.

Previous home medical experience is preferred for this position, but not required - we're willing to train the right person. This position requires the ability to sit at a desk and stand and work face to face with patients, and also requires frequent squatting, bending and twisting. Candidates must be able to follow directions, be detail-oriented, and have basic competencies using a smartphone, iPad and desktop computer.

As an accredited company, NuCara Home Medical requires that candidates successfully pass all required pre-employment screenings prior to starting employment. Required screenings for the Customer Service position include a criminal background check, OIG Exclusions List screening, and drug screening.
