Position Summary
This is a non-supervisory role that is responsible for leading the HOT PRESS crew with stations that include (but not limited to) the glue spreader, hot press, and assist the Cold Press/Veneer Supervisor in areas of that department at the Plywood facility.
Accountabilities
Mix glue for production several times a day
Cut cross bands for 5 ply product
Learn all aspects of the department's operation, including filling in when other team members are absent
Clean glue pot at the end of each shift
Be knowledgeable of veneer and the laying up of veneer process
Enter employee hours, non-control and transfer at the end of the shift or when the supervisor is not present
Have great communication with team members so that they are aware of expectations
Coach, support, and train team members
Ensure team members meet safety and productivity requirements
Meet quality expectations by achieving quality goals
Create attainable expectations for your team
Collaborate with support functions to solve problems. Be the solution and act as first line responsible for problem-solving linked to safety, quality, and efficiency

Education & Experience
Prior experience in wood veneer a plus
Knowledge of core materials a plus
