Commercial B2B Collections Specialist (SAP Required)
We are seeking a results-driven B2B Collections Specialist to join our finance team in Northwest Houston. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial accounts, driving timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate has experience in business-to-business collections, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively resolve discrepancies while partnering with internal teams. Manage a portfolio of commercial customer accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices Proactively contact customers via phone and email to follow up on past-due balances Maintain professional relationships while enforcing credit terms and payment expectations Document all collection activity and customer communication in internal systems Accounts Receivable Oversight
Review AR aging reports and identify delinquent or high-risk accounts Prioritize collection efforts based on aging, customer history, and risk exposure Monitor account status and escalate issues as needed Payment Research & Reconciliation
Partner with accounting to ensure accurate application of incoming payments Investigate unapplied cash, short payments, and discrepancies Assist with account reconciliations and balance verifications Dispute Resolution
Collaborate with billing, sales, and operations teams to resolve invoice disputes Work to quickly clear issues that may delay customer payment Track and document dispute status through resolution Reporting & Administrative Support
Provide regular updates on collection efforts, aging trends, and account status Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable Maintain organized documentation of collection activity and customer interactions Identify opportunities to improve collections processes and reduce DSO Qualifications
2+ years of B2B/commercial collections experience required Experience managing a high-volume portfolio of accounts preferred Strong Excel skills (data entry, basic formulas; pivot tables a plus) Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities How to Apply
