Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs, including social, educational, and therapeutic activities, to promote resident engagement and satisfaction
• Conduct regular assessments to identify resident interests and abilities, and develop programs tailored to their needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, therapy, and dietary staff, to ensure that activities are coordinated and aligned with resident care plans
• Recruit and manage volunteers to support activity programs
• Monitor and evaluate activity programs, making recommendations for improvement and modifications as needed
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including infection control and safety protocols

Requirements

• Certified Activities Director or Therapeutic Recreational Therapist required with priorexperience in Activities or a related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of residents, staff, and volunteers
• Ability to create engaging and inclusive programs for seniors
• Familiarity with regulations and guidelines related to activities and recreational programs in a healthcare setting
