Job Title: Director of E-Commerce

The Director of E-Commerce will lead and scale the digital business for the brand, owning the end-to-end site experience and driving revenue growth through best-in-class merchandising, user experience, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the e-commerce channel, including site optimization, merchandising strategy, and customer journey improvements.

The Director of E-Commerce will partner closely with Marketing, Growth, Product, and Design to bring new product launches to market and ensure a seamless, high-performing online experience. The role will also manage agency relationships and lead a small but growing e-commerce team.

Key Responsibilities

E-Commerce Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the overall performance and strategy of the brand’s e-commerce site.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to drive revenue growth, conversion rate improvements, and customer lifetime value.
  • Analyze site performance, customer behavior, and funnel metrics to inform optimization strategies.

Site Experience & Optimization

  • Oversee site merchandising strategy including product launches, category management, and promotional placements.
  • Identify and implement UX/UI improvements to enhance conversion and customer experience.
  • Lead initiatives to improve the end-to-end customer journey across the digital storefront.
  • Continuously test and optimize site functionality, navigation, and product discovery.

Go-to-Market (GTM) Leadership

  • Own the e-commerce go-to-market strategy for product launches, campaigns, and seasonal moments.
  • Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to ensure cohesive launch strategies across channels.
  • Align the e-commerce calendar with product development and design timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Growth and Marketing teams to support retention, loyalty, and lifecycle marketing strategies.
  • Partner with Design and Product teams to ensure digital storytelling aligns with brand and product strategy.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful campaign execution and site readiness.

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external agency partners across development, site optimization, and digital experience.
  • Ensure agencies deliver against performance goals, timelines, and brand standards.

Team Leadership

  • Manage the E-Commerce Manager and provide strategic oversight to the broader e-commerce function.
  • Support the onboarding and development of the E-Commerce Coordinator (reporting into the E-Commerce Manager with dotted-line reporting to this role).
  • Build scalable processes and workflows as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in e-commerce or digital commerce, preferably within fashion, lifestyle, or DTC brands.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through site optimization and merchandising strategy.
  • Strong experience managing Shopify or comparable e-commerce platforms.
  • Deep understanding of digital merchandising, conversion optimization, and UX best practices.
  • Experience managing agencies and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.

Salary $165,000-$190,000 +bonus
