Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

JCW is currently partnered with a growing and well-capitalized insurance organization is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to build and lead the FP&A function. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial strategy, planning, and performance insights across the organization. The position offers significant visibility to senior management and will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving forecasting capabilities, and building scalable financial reporting processes. This position is on-site in the firm's Manhattan office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning across the organization.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights and decision support.
• Develop and enhance financial models, forecasting processes, and performance dashboards to support business growth.
• Deliver clear analysis on revenue drivers, underwriting performance, expense trends, and profitability.
• Partner cross-functionally with underwriting, actuarial, operations, and distribution teams to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Build and manage monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior leadership and board-level discussions.
• Lead variance analysis, scenario modeling, and business performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting infrastructure, and planning systems as the company continues to scale.
• Build and mentor a high-performing FP&A team over time.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance
• Prior experience within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services strongly preferred
• Strong experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience building or improving financial planning infrastructure in a growing organization
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
