
Director Of Asset Management

A well-capitalized commercial real estate investment and operating firm in Austin is seeking a Director of Asset Management to lead portfolio strategy, performance optimization, and value creation initiatives across a diversified commercial portfolio.
This is a senior leadership role for a commercially minded asset manager who understands capital, operations, and execution, not just reporting.
Minimum 10+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead asset-level business plan execution across office, retail, industrial, and/or mixed-use commercial assets
- Drive NOI growth, leasing strategy, expense optimization, and capital improvement execution
- Evaluate hold/sell decisions and disposition strategies
- Oversee underwriting of refinancing and recapitalization opportunities
- Review and challenge annual budgets and reforecasts
- Monitor cash flow, IRR projections, and portfolio-level performance
- Partner closely with acquisitions and capital markets teams
- Present performance updates to ownership and investors
Leasing & Operations
- Collaborate with leasing teams to structure and negotiate major deals
- Oversee third-party property management relationships
- Approve capital expenditure programs and ROI analysis
- Identify operational efficiencies across the portfolio
Leadership
- Manage and mentor Asset Managers / Senior Asset Managers
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between acquisitions, development, accounting, and operations
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of commercial real estate asset management experience
- Experience overseeing institutional-quality commercial assets
- Strong financial modeling and underwriting capabilities
- Proven ability to drive asset-level value creation
- Experience presenting to ownership, lenders, or institutional capital partners
- Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Real Estate, Economics or related field preferred)
- MBA or advanced real estate designation is a plus
