Ferretti Search is proud to partner with a global leader in advanced industrial materials and flow control solutions to identify their next Commercial Director for North America. This is a senior commercial leadership role with full accountability for a high-performing sales organization spanning the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Compensation:

$200,000-$225,000 base salary + annual bonus + LTIP + discretionary annual 401(k) contribution

Benefits:

Full H/V/D + PTO + 401(k) match

What will your day look like?

  • Lead the Commercial Team: Direct a team of Sector Sales Managers plus Engineering Services and Foundry Distribution, driving alignment toward revenue and profitability targets.
  • Own the P&L: Establish sales and profit budgets, monitor contract profitability, and define margin improvement strategies with your team.
  • Drive Customer Relationships: Serve as a senior-level point of contact for key accounts across North America, supporting your team in growing and protecting market share.
  • Set and Measure KPIs: Build accountability structures for all direct reports with clear performance metrics and scoring.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the connector between the commercial team and internal departments including operations, engineering, and finance.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform strategy and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Working Capital Management: Oversee inventory and customer portfolio levels in alignment with company working capital goals.
  • Travel: Regular travel across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to support customers and the commercial team in the field.

Who are you?

  • Senior Commercial Leader: You have 10+ years of sales experience in manufacturing-driven, industrial environments, with a track record of hitting revenue and margin targets.
  • Refractories or Metals Industry Background: You bring hands‑on experience in refractories, ceramics, flow control, or adjacent industrial materials. Aluminum, copper, foundry, or steel experience is a strong plus.
  • Manager of Managers: You have 3-5+ years leading sales teams, developing talent, and holding people accountable to results.
  • Technically Grounded: You can engage at a high level on ceramic, metallurgical, or process-related topics with both customers and internal engineering teams.
  • Financially Fluent: You understand budgeting, margin management, and contract economics, and you use that fluency to drive decisions.
  • Strategic and Action-Oriented: You can think ahead, build a plan, and execute with urgency without losing sight of the big picture.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
