A privately held, multi‑generational family investment office based in South Carolina is seeking a Vice President to join its Power & Infrastructure private equity team. The firm deploys long‑duration, permanent capital into sustainable power generation, essential service infrastructure, and energy transition assets. It partners with high‑quality operators and developers to build durable platforms that support long‑term value creation.

Position Overview

The Vice President will be a key member of a lean, entrepreneurial investment team responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across the power, utilities, energy transition, and broader infrastructure sectors. This individual will lead transaction processes, coordinate diligence efforts, manage advisor relationships, and engage directly with senior leadership on investment strategy and portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Sourcing & Origination

  • Build and maintain relationships with developers, operators, industry executives, advisors, and capital markets partners.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging investment opportunities across power generation, renewables, grid infrastructure, and other essential service verticals.
  • Support proactive sourcing initiatives and long‑term pipeline development.

Transaction Execution

  • Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and scenario planning for new opportunities.
  • Manage comprehensive diligence processes (technical, commercial, regulatory, legal, tax, ESG).
  • Oversee third‑party advisors and coordinate internal workstreams throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Develop high-quality investment materials and present findings to senior leadership and committees.

Portfolio Management

  • Partner with portfolio company management teams to monitor operational performance and execute strategic priorities.
  • Track KPIs, analyze financial and operational data, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Support growth initiatives including add‑on acquisitions, platform expansion, and refinancing activities.

Market Research & Strategic Insight

  • Conduct ongoing research on market trends, regulatory developments, regional power markets, and infrastructure subsectors.
  • Develop thematic investment theses aligned with the firm's mandate and long‑term strategy.
  • Provide insights that help shape overall portfolio direction and capital allocation.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6-10+ years of experience in private equity, project finance, investment banking, infrastructure investing, or corporate development.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience leading or managing transaction workstreams, ideally within power, energy transition, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Clear, concise communication abilities with comfort presenting to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Deep sector familiarity with power markets, renewable development, grid infrastructure, or essential service assets.
  • Experience within permanent capital or long‑duration investment environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in lean, high‑responsibility team structures.
  • Understanding of infrastructure‑specific risk drivers (PPA structures, interconnection, merchant exposure, regulatory dynamics).
