Position Overview
St. Joseph Hearing + Speech seeks a dynamic and relationship-driven Development Director to help grow philanthropic support and expand community partnerships within the Indiana market. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Director plays a key leadership role in driving revenue growth, cultivating major donor and corporate relationships, and strengthening the organization’s network of supporters across Indiana. This role serves as a visible ambassador for the organization and focuses on expanding individual and corporate giving while engaging community leaders in support of the mission. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and strong relationship builder who thrives on connecting donors and partners to meaningful philanthropic opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Major Donor and Corporate Relationship Development
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and community leaders
- Expand and strengthen a portfolio of major donors and corporate sponsors
- Engage C-suite executives and business leaders in meaningful partnerships aligned with the organization’s mission
- Represent St. Joseph Hearing + Speech at community events, networking engagements, and corporate meetings throughout Indiana
Fundraising Strategy and Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue goals
- Drive growth in individual and corporate giving across the Indiana market
- Secure major gifts and long‑term partnerships through consultative, relationship‑based fundraising
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to align fundraising initiatives with organizational priorities
Data-Informed Development
- Analyze donor trends and fundraising performance to inform strategy and strengthen outcomes
- Utilize CRM tools and reporting systems to track engagement, monitor progress, and identify opportunities
- Refine donor outreach and engagement strategies based on measurable results
Organizational Collaboration
- Partner cross‑functionally with program, marketing, finance, and executive leadership to ensure strong storytelling and donor engagement
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Development Officer in advancing fundraising innovation and growth
- Serve as staff liaison to the Indiana Development Committee
- Ensure that the values of St. Joseph Hearing + Speech and the Charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph are reflected in all external and internal engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising, development, or consultative sales experience, ideally within a nonprofit organization
- Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding revenue goals and securing philanthropic support
- Proven track record of cultivating relationships with senior‑level corporate and community leaders
- Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship‑building skills
- Experience with fundraising databases or CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and using data to inform strategy
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, relationship‑driven environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with ability to travel locally within Indiana

Salary Range
$70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience.
Work Environment
Some evening and weekend hours may be required to support donor engagement and organizational events.
