The

Rental Account Manager

is the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level. This position mainly supports the commercial rental and trailer services product lines, expanding Ryder’s rental sales presence in the BU and creating profitable new accounts while retaining existing ones. The goal is to drive pure rental revenue growth, improve profitability, increase Return on Assets, and enhance lease sales productivity.

Location & Schedule Shop Location: Buford, GA

Hours: First Shift (Monday - Friday)

Territory/Region: Athens, Buford, Doraville, and Gainesville

Ground travel throughout the assigned territory is required.

Compensation Salary plus commission. The annual pay ranges from $55,000 to $55,000 (base salary). Commission and long‑term incentives vary by performance.

Essential Functions

Sales: Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits. Use product knowledge to assess customers’ needs and create proposals. Coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability. Market at branch level and train rental sales representatives in telemarketing and customer outreach.

Customer Retention: Maintain contact with customers via visits and phone calls. Handle complaints, stay abreast of customer needs, and schedule retention visits for long‑term rental customers.

Time Administration: Prepare proposals and contracts, maintain customer files, coordinate follow‑up correspondence. Ensure accuracy of customer data and manage collections of receivables.

Decision Making: Follow‑up within specified time frames, comply with company procedures, and manage past‑due receivables with diplomacy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent work experience.

At least one year of sales experience or sales training.

Preferred: Three years of sales experience.

Preferred: One year of industry experience.
