Summary/Objective The Director, Sales Team Lead is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing sales team while driving growth across an assigned territory. This role focuses on building long-term, trusted relationships with senior leaders across the credit union and supplier ecosystem while ensuring the team successfully executes against revenue goals through disciplined account planning, pipeline management and client engagement.

This leader will bring a strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly the credit union movement, along with the ability to align Callahan’s insights, data and solutions with client needs. Working closely with Sales Executives, Account Managers, Business Development Representatives and internal partners, the Director will guide strategy and execution across the full client lifecycle — new sales, renewals and expansion — ensuring consistent progress toward key performance indicators and sustainable growth.

Essential Functions

Hire, develop, and retain engaged and empowered associates vested in Callahan’s values

Support the senior management team in developing and operationalizing strategies

Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual sales goals and targets that align with the company’s financial plan

Lead team to build positive working relationships within assigned territory to maximize revenue achievement, retention, and growth

Develop strategies for direct reports to deploy tailored account plans (short-/mid-/long-term targets), including a clear implementation plan and present to executives

Facilitate in‑person/virtual engagements at industry events, Callahan Roundtables, and/or individual clients to support Callahan’s thought leadership.

Support direct reports in implementation of strategy, knowledge of products, pipeline maintenance and forecasting, Salesforce compliance, and active reporting

Collaborate with the customer success teams to develop effective and efficient onboarding processes

Work closely with the senior management team, marketing, and Account Management ‘PODs’ to leverage their appropriate expertise in the sales cycle

Collaborate with Product Strategy and Development teams to promote improvements in product quality and the development of new sources of revenue

Preferred Education and Experience

10+ years’ experience working in direct business-to-business sales roles with a focus on financial services and/or credit union customers.

At least 5 years in a sales leadership role managing direct reports with continually increasing levels of responsibility.

Solid understanding of different parts of the global financial services industry, including market dynamics and customers’ business drivers.

Ability to present high-level information as well as detailed demonstrations of products & services.

Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, with focus and high attention to detail.

Proficiency in Salesforce.com.

Software or SaaS sales experience preferred.

Experience thinking through problems creatively.

Ability to take initiative on projects and customer service interactions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.
