Summary of Position Lionsgate is seeking to hire a seasoned tax controversy and planning person. This is both a challenging and rewarding position in a tax department of the highest caliber that works closely together to meet its objectives. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President & Chief Tax Officer (“CTO”).
Responsibilities
Manage examinations and appeals, supported by other members of the team and the Company’s advisors, working directly with taxing authorities to get to the right answer and resolve examinations or appeals efficiently.
Direct communication with auditors
Track and schedule all requests and responses for examination.
Responsible for preparation and review of IDR responses.
Review of audit reports and adjustments and make recommendations to CTO.
Manage the Uncertain Tax Position (“UTP”) Schedule.
Perform research on multi-state and other tax issues as requested.
Responsible for amended returns (refund claims, state returns subsequent to Federal adjustments).
Work directly with the planning team on many initiatives.
Respond and manage tax notices and desk audits.

Qualifications and Skills
10+ years of experience in Tax
Project management
Verbal and written communication
Corporate and Partnership Tax
Accounting and Tax returns
Tax Research
Tax controversy experience required (Corporate, Partnership, Indirect tax and Property tax)
Combination of public accounting and corporate experience preferred
Entertainment industry experience preferred
Tax jurisdiction examination experience required
CPA or Attorney preferred
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance (if not an attorney)
Master of Taxation, Doctor of Jurisprudence or LLM Tax is a plus.
Nice to Haves
Experience with SAP preferred
