Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill a number of part‑time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Event Lead for the OSU Program Council at Oregon State University (OSU).
The OSUPC Lead is responsible for leading a team of event associates; providing vision, leadership, and project management support for large‑scale events; and guiding and mentoring OSUPC student staff in the planning and delivery of welcoming and engaging event experiences.

Position Duties Event Planning & Execution
Provide vision and goals for major OSUPC events.
Facilitate and lead regular planning meetings.
Collaborate with marketing to develop the marketing and promotional plans.
Monitor and manage the progress of the events.
Pitch new event ideas aligned with OSUPC goals.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Leadership & Team Development
Follows all OSUPC policies, procedures, planning processes and systems and holds staff accountable to all OSUPC policies and procedures.
Guide staff through planning tasks and decision‑making.
Lead event planning meetings prior to events and “best and better” reflections after all events.
Provide praise and constructive feedback.
Assessment & Evaluation
Work with OSUPC Coordinator on feedback collection strategies.
Train staff on how to collect feedback data.
Review, analyze and summarize feedback for mid‑to‑small‑scale events.
Build relationships with student leaders and campus partners.
Collaborate with other students to enhance program offerings.
Holds and posts 10-15 regular office hours each week, at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term.
Communication
Meets regularly with OSUPC supervisor to go over feedback and areas for improvement; anticipate and strategize for overcoming challenges.
Responds to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OSUPC.
Identify areas for personal and professional growth and participate in leadership development.
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program.
Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term.
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full‑time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Served as an OSUPC event specialist for at least 6 months.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing events.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work with others and effectively problem solve issues that occur.
Demonstrated experience with coaching and with giving and receiving feedback.
Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations.
Has strong organizational skills.
Is adaptable to a changing environment.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Served as an OSUPC events specialist for at least 12 months.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Teams, Canva, SharePoint, Box, and/or any project management tools.
