Mortgage Closer
The Mortgage Closer is responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external mortgage and home equity members. Duties include, but are not limited to, efficient pipeline management, issuance of closing disclosures, working closely with title companies to balance closing disclosures, delivery of the final closing documents and funding via wire transfers. Validating closing documentation conditions are satisfied. Facilitating solutions for requests or changes presented during and after loan closing. Must be able to work in a fast-spaced environment and be able to pivot as needed to address closing problems timely and professionally. Essential functions include: Facilitating productive written and verbal communication with our members, branch and production staff, investors, insurers, third-party vendors and servicing staff to address requests and maintain a productive and compliant relationships Responsible to work with title company to reconciliation closing disclosure with the title company Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate closing of mortgage and home equity loans in accordance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements Analyzing documentation and information provided to validate meets established requirements including (but not limited to) finalized underwriting requirements per investor and regulatory guidelines; validating monthly hazard insurance, property tax and private mortgage insurance payments as well as closing payoffs Managing a pipeline of loans while maintaining key performance indicators established to control quality, accuracy and efficiency Possessing a knowledge of mortgage and home equity closing practices and procedures as well as regulatory compliance and quality audit Updating loan origination systems as needed with required data, commentary and key dates Other duties as assigned Competencies include: Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented atmosphere where the environment changes on a consistent basis Ability to prioritize tasks and organization daily functions, multi-tasking a plus Ability to work with minimal management Experience processing tasks in a paperless environment, a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills Supervisory responsibilities: None Work environment: Private work area, office setting.
