A rapidly growing contemporary fashion brand is seeking a Temp to Hire- Technical Designer with strong experience in dresses to support product from concept through production. This role will partner closely with Design and Product Development to ensure fit, construction, and quality standards are executed at a high level across all categories.
Job Summary:
The Technical Designer will own the technical development process for dresses, ensuring all garments meet brand standards for fit, construction, and quality. This role requires a strong eye for detail, deep knowledge of garment construction, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and overseas vendors. You will play a key role in bringing design concepts to life while maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and manage detailed tech packs, specs, and construction details
Lead fittings, take detailed fit notes, and communicate revisions to vendors
Ensure accuracy of measurements, grading, and garment construction
Partner with Design and Product Development to translate design intent into production-ready garments
Communicate daily with overseas factories on development, fit, and production updates
Review samples at all stages (proto, fit, PP, TOP) and ensure quality standards are met
Track development timelines and ensure all milestones are achieved
Key Qualifications:
8+ years of Technical Design experience within contemporary apparel, with a focus on dresses
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel
Experience working with overseas vendors and managing sample development
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
