
Heavy Equipment Outside Sales Representative

O2 Employment Services is working with a local equipment company to find their next Outside Sales Representative. This position is based in Redding, CA.
The ideal candidate will be driven, relationship-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based sales environment. This role is responsible for developing new business, maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue through the sale of tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
Outside Sales Representative Compensation
$60,000 base salary plus commission;

Outside Sales Representative Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of outside sales or business development experience in the heavy construction and/or agricultural sales;
Experience in equipment, automotive, agriculture, construction, or related industry preferred;
Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships;
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets;
Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills;
Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities;
Ability to work independently in a field-based role;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems;
Valid California Driver’s License and ability to travel within assigned territory.
Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and increase revenue;
Develop and execute territory sales strategies to meet or exceed sales goals;
Conduct in-person sales calls with prospective customers including contractors, agricultural businesses, fleet operators, and owner-operators;
Deliver product presentations and demonstrations showcasing equipment capabilities and value;
Prepare quotes, proposals, and purchase agreements in alignment with company policies;
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines while maintaining profitability;
Close sales and coordinate with internal teams to finalize orders and ensure timely delivery;
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business;
Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process and post-sale;
Address customer questions and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues;
Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional equipment, parts, and services;
Maintain working knowledge of tractors, trailers, and related products;
Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings;
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and opportunities in CRM systems;
Track progress toward sales goals and provide reporting as needed;
Collaborate with service, parts, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth transactions;
Travel regularly within assigned territory to meet with customers and prospects;
Represent the company at trade shows, events, and community functions.
