The Account Executive is responsible for both ongoing client relationship management and new client acquisition. Unlike many traditional sales roles, this position maintains ownership of the client relationship after the sale.

Account Executives serve as the primary strategic contact for their clients and are responsible for ensuring strong communication, client satisfaction, and long term retention. This role combines consultative sales, strategic advising, and proactive account management.

The Account Executive also works closely with internal teams including SEO strategists, content specialists, and project managers to ensure marketing campaigns are executed effectively and client deliverables are completed on time.

Successful candidates are comfortable closing new business, managing client relationships, and collaborating cross functionally to support successful campaign execution.

Performance Is Measured By

Client Retention and Recurring Revenue – Ongoing revenue generated from retained clients within the Account Executive’s book of business.

Revenue produced through upselling and cross-selling the current client portfolio and through new client acquisition

Multi-Year Client Renewals – Securing longer-term client commitments that extend beyond the initial agreement and strengthen revenue predictability

Demonstrating ATB values and contributing to a strong client experience

Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned clients after the initial sale

Maintain ownership of the client relationship throughout the lifecycle of the partnership

Conduct regular client check ins to review campaign performance, marketing strategy, and growth opportunities

Ensure clients understand campaign performance, deliverables, and marketing strategy

Proactively identify potential concerns or risks to retention and address them early

Maintain consistent communication and responsiveness to client needs

Document client communication and activity within the company CRM system

New Business Development

Identify and develop new client opportunities within assigned territories or markets

Lead consultative sales conversations with attorneys and law firm decision makers

Present strategic digital marketing solutions including website development, SEO, paid advertising, and related services

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through signed agreement

Consistently meet or exceed monthly new revenue targets

Strategic Client Growth & Retention

Identify opportunities for additional marketing services that support client growth

Educate clients on evolving digital marketing trends and opportunities within their markets

Lead the renewal process and guide clients toward long term partnership opportunities

Encourage multi year renewals when appropriate

Partner with internal teams to ensure campaigns are performing and client expectations are being met

Campaign Oversight & Internal Collaboration

Work closely with internal SEO strategists, content specialists, and project managers to ensure campaigns are delivered successfully

Communicate client goals, expectations, and feedback to internal teams

Help coordinate strategy discussions between clients and internal marketing specialists when needed

Monitor progress of deliverables and ensure work is aligned with client expectations

Advocate for clients internally while maintaining realistic expectations and timelines

Ensure projects remain organized, on track, and aligned with agreed upon strategy

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience

3+ years of sales experience, preferably in digital marketing, SaaS, or professional services

Experience managing client relationships or strategic accounts

Strong consultative sales and relationship building skills

Ability to manage multiple client relationships and opportunities simultaneously

Strong organizational and communication skills

Experience working with attorneys or law firms is a plus but not required
