GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the HOS - Housekeeping department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Actively participate in custodial activities with crew members or work independently as assigned by supervisor. Job functions include but are not limited to vacuuming, operating mechanical floor scrubbing equipment, carpet cleaning, hard surface floor care, restroom sanitation and general cleaning of college facilities.
Remove trash, debris and litter from buildings and grounds to include around buildings in parking lots and campus entrances. Empty outdoor trash cans. Maintain exterior building entrances and walkways by keeping areas clean and free of debris and leaves using brooms, other handheld tools, and mechanical equipment such as handheld or backpack blowers. Brush and/or clean building exterior by removing debris and spider webs from windows and building facade. Assist grounds maintenance department with other grounds maintenance task as needed and appropriate.
Keep custodial closets clean, stocked and organized. Keep all custodial equipment clean and functional and ready for operation. Separate as directed soiled microfiber cleaning cloths and mops for delivery to departmental laundry facilities. Report malfunctioning, broken or damaged equipment to supervisor or lead custodian for repair or replacement.
Assist department supervisors by setting up and breaking down furniture for college meetings, events, maintenance renovations and departmental projects.
Assist, as needed and assigned, building maintenance department. Tasks will include but are not limited to changing light bulbs, performing basic plumbing in restrooms such as plunging commodes or hair removal in sink traps, installing new or replacing existing damaged product dispensers, etc
Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS HS diploma plus two (2) years related work experience; or 10th grade education plus three (3) years related work experience. Valid state issued driver's license
