The P&C Sr. Commercial Account Manager is responsible for contributing to agency profitability and growth by supporting new, profitable business, and supporting existing client retention by providing best-in-class customer service. The position is responsible for providing service to our customers, prospects, producers, and other agency staff. The Account Manager may be assigned a book of Commercial Lines existing business to service with the expectation that the Account Manager assists in the growth of that book. None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as a commercial product knowledge expert for the agency. Strong understanding of commercial carrier’s products, services, and offerings. Willing and able to step in on behalf of the Account Executive when needed. Train and develop other commercial staff. Prepares commercial applications for various carriers and create customer proposals. Provides customer account assistance to the Commercial Account Executive. Prepares and processes requests for policy changes, certificates, binders, and evidence of insurance. Efficiently manages follow up activity on receipt of audits. Handles telephone requests, email inquiries, incoming faxes for correspondence on prospective and existing accounts. Prepares Summaries of Insurance on new and renewal accounts. Effectively manages new business prospects and existing client workload. Prepares and processes claim reports to provide service for existing clients. Reviews all quotes for coverage comparisons. Prepares ID cards, certificates, binders, and/or obtains underwriter approval on manuscript endorsements. Provides coverage interpretation analysis for accounts. Assists in cross-selling and account rounding. Markets renewal accounts as needed due to customer or Account Executive request. Creates and maintains positive and professional relationships with customers. Computes and prepares premium finance contracts as needed. Demonstrates a positive attitude and build customer focused relationships with staff. Demonstrates a willingness and desire to work in a team atmosphere and assist others when needed. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Proactively work with customers to refer opportunities to MH Banking and Investments. Learn and proficiently use various carrier websites for quoting. Develops and maintains positive relationships with insurance carriers. Effectively manages workload including follow up activity in EPIC and completing proficient documentation on all client contacts. Attends scheduled agency and carrier meetings. Maintains current agent license, certifications, and CE requirements for each renewal period. Assists with development and training of P&C staff. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: Enhanced knowledge of commercial property & casualty coverages and ability to apply that knowledge in the performance of job duties. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at one time. Self-motivation, strong work ethic and the ability to build personal relationships with clients will be essential in this position. Must be able to work independently with little daily supervision. Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Must always present themselves in a professional manner. Must have proficiency of PC with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and good data entry skills. Education and Experience: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or four years of relevant work experience. Minimum of 3 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience required. Minimum of 5 years of customer service, client management or similar work experience required. Must have experience analyzing and understanding coverages, forms, underwriting practices and policies.
