Position Summary The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent supports the daily operation and ongoing success of Green Bay Country Club’s golf course and grounds. Working under the Director of Grounds & Facilities and alongside the management team, this role assists with planning, maintenance, staff coordination, and ensuring high-quality course conditions.

Employment Status Full-Time, Hourly

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily maintenance of the golf course, buildings, and grounds.

Help oversee staff work, safety practices, and training.

Monitor turf health and support fertilizer, chemical, and irrigation programs.

Participate in project planning, scheduling, and equipment coordination.

Respond to maintenance requests and support facility operations.

Assist with seasonal tasks including snow removal, pool systems, and irrigation.

Requirements Qualifications:

Degree or certification in turf management or related field preferred.

Valid Wisconsin driver’s license; ability to work occasional weekends or off-hours.

Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Knowledge of golf course maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, and equipment.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

Lift and move items, furniture, equipment, and tools weighing up to 50 lbs., and perform climbing, crawling, and stooping to access various work areas.

Use manual strength and dexterity to operate tools and equipment and to push, pull, or maneuver heavy objects.

Work outdoors in extreme temperatures and inclement weather, as well as in aerial, underground, or confined environments with potential exposure to bacteria, hazardous chemicals, and fumes.

Read and interpret computer screens, written materials, blueprints, and diagrams.

Communicate effectively in person and by phone, with adequate speech and hearing ability.

Use sense of smell to identify abnormal conditions such as smoke, leaks, or other odors indicating equipment malfunction.

Work occurs outdoors, in shops, and office environments.
