Role Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Structural Steel / Miscellaneous Metals Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication and assembly operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate with project teams, and ensure that all structural steel and miscellaneous metals are fabricated, assembled, and delivered to meet project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold safety protocols, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects from start to finish while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
This is ahands-on leadership position. The foreman will work alongside the crew while managing fabrication operations.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily shop operations for the fabrication of structural steel and miscellaneous metals, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately.
Manage shop personnel by assigning tasks, providing guidance, overseeing training, and supervising work performance to ensure productivity and safety compliance.
Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies through regular safety meetings, audits, and site inspections within the shop environment.
Collaborate on project budgeting, cost control measures, and procurement of materials including pipes, beams, bolts, fasteners, and other miscellaneous metals components.
Train and develop fabrication personnel.
Skills
Experience in fabrication with a focus on structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabrication.
Proven supervising experience with strong leadership skills in a fast-paced shop setting.
Deep understanding of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, construction estimating, project scheduling, and quality control processes.
Familiarity with OSHA standards related to construction sites and shop environments for worker safety.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
