
Human Resources Specialist

The HR Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources team in a variety of HR and administrative functions, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and records management. This position will ensure efficient HR processes and provide an excellent experience for both new hires and current employees. The HR Specialist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations and coordinating employee programs and activities that foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding Support :
Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, including background checks, drug screenings, I-9s, ID Badges, ADP account setup, preparation of orientation materials and setup of new hire documentation.
Responsible for conducting New Hire orientation
Assist in the recruitment process as needed, including sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
Handling of temporary hires, coordinating with staffing agencies
Employee Events and Engagement Activities
Plan, organize, and execute employee events and activities to promote engagement and boost morale including major annual events.
Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate logistics for events such as team-building activities, holiday celebrations, and recognition programs.
Records Maintenance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and personnel files, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
Assist with audits and reporting by providing employee information as needed.
Expense Report Processing/Travel Arrangements:
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring they meet company policies and standards.
Address inquiries related to expenses and provide guidance on expense reporting procedures.
Coordinate travel arrangements for employees as needed, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation. Ensure travel policies are followed and assist with any travel-related questions or issues.
Administrative and HR Support
Respond to general HR inquiries from employees and provide information on HR policies and procedures.
Assist with special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in an HR or administrative support role.
Proficiency in ADP, Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with expense and travel management is a plus.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Must work well as part of a team.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
