
Freight Broker Customer Sales

Journey is working with several clients seeking remote shipper-facing sales reps who have experience as freight brokers and are comfortable hunting new business.
DFW in office
65k-85k base salary + commission
Applicants must have previous experience building a Book of Business at a freight brokerage in customer sales, selling to shippers.
Please be prepared to speak to your sales metrics and Book of Business in your most recent role.
We are not expecting candidates to transition their book of business; however, our clients do require 3+ years of previous experience in shipper-facing sales/building an organic book of business.
About this role:
Seek, qualify, and close new business opportunities and maintain an active sales pipeline to ensure revenue growth YOY
Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the schedule
Reach out to prospective customers through all available channels, including but not limited to cold calling, cold messaging, attending conferences, LinkedIn messaging, etc.
Identify and monitor new sales prospects, market trends, and competitors
Expand wallet share with current customers
Identify services and pricing that meet customer’s needs
Work with a team of on- and off-site employees to service your accounts
Prioritize client satisfaction, promote new services, set targets, and ensure healthy relationships between the company and customers
Take a leading role in presentations and proposals for accounts
Act as the senior liaison to the brokerage's high-profile customers
Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
Additional Requirements
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to negotiate freight rates and fees
Strong familiarity with common industry technology including, but not limited to, rating tools and TMS systems
Ability to productively work remotely.
Willingness to travel when needed/when possible
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
