Sr. Tax Analyst (Indirect Tax)
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Tax Analyst to join our State Tax team. This role is primarily focused on indirect tax and offers exposure to other state tax functions. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, flexible, and eager to grow in a dynamic environment. Roles and Responsibilities: Assist with preparation and filing of: sales & use tax and property tax returns, unclaimed property reports, business licenses and annual reports, other state and local compliance activities Assist with or lead state and local tax audits, including documentation and issue resolution Complete accounting activities, including accruals and reconciliations for sales/use, property taxes and unclaimed property Identify and implement process improvements and fortify internal controls Contribute to departmental and company-wide initiatives Partner cross-functionally and deliver presentations on tax-related matters Conduct tax research and examination to back technical positions and business transactions Leverage data analytics and automation tools to enhance tax processes and reporting Required Skills and Experience: 5 - 6 years of recent indirect tax experience in public accounting or a corporate tax environment Demonstrable knowledge of accounting principles and concepts Exceptional statistical skills with the ability to perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses Excellent communication and relational skills, with the ability to influence and partner across teams Self-starter with effective organizational and time management skills Proficiency in tax research and interpretation of tax laws Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to influence positive outcomes for the tax department and company as a whole Self-directed and self-motivated This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week Required Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance Preferred Qualifications: CPA and MS in Tax preferred Working knowledge of AI tools and technologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, automation platforms) and their application in tax functions Familiarity with AI-driven tax solutions or experience implementing AI-based process improvements Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to drive efficiency and accuracy in tax operations Experience with tools such as SAP, Vertex, Alteryx, and Tableau
