Job Title: Senior Director of Engineering

An established, privately held Data Centre Infrastructure Solutions provider, they design and deliver mission-critical power conversion and advanced thermal management systems for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centres. With R&D and engineering hubs across North America, they’re driving the next wave of efficiency, reliability, and sustainability to keep the world’s digital backbone running 24/7.

The Senior Director of Engineering will own all aspects of hardware development for uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), and liquid cooling modules tailored for high-availability data centres. You will build and lead a world-class, multidisciplinary team, driving end-to-end product architecture, accelerated time-to-market, and uncompromising quality and compliance.

• Define and execute a multi-year R&D roadmap for data centre power and cooling hardware.
• Lead and scale cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers through concept, detailed design, validation, and pilot production.
• Partner with Product Management to translate market requirements—efficiency, modularity, digital telemetry—into robust specifications.
• Oversee global certification and compliance (IEC, UL, CE, Uptime Institute, TIA-942) activities.
• Manage environmental, thermal, and reliability testing—coordinate lab resources and external test houses.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Manufacturing to optimize BOM cost, supplier selection, and DfM practices.
• Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement methodologies across the hardware organization.
• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of hardware development experience in power electronics (UPS, converters) and cooling systems.
• 5+ years in senior leadership roles, managing and mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success bringing high-availability, regulated-environment products to market (data centre, telecom, aerospace, or similar).
• Deep understanding of power semiconductor circuits, magnetics, CFD thermal analysis, and high-speed PCB design.
• Strong financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and P&L ownership.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with embedded controls, IoT-enabled monitoring, and data-driven diagnostics platforms.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Hands-on background in automated test frameworks (LabVIEW, Python scripting).
• Knowledge of modular liquid-cooling architectures and refrigerant-based solutions.
• Executive education or MBA.
