As our mortgage offering continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and service‑driven Junior Mortgage Advisor to join our Lending Team.
Role Overview The Junior Mortgage Adviser will support the end‑to‑end mortgage journey for our members—from initial enquiry through to drawdown. This is an excellent development role for someone interested in progressing into mortgage or financial advisory positions within the Credit Union sector. Full training and support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with assessing both personal loans and mortgage enquiries and guiding members through application requirements.
Support the preparation, review, and processing of loan applications in line with policies and regulatory standards.
Conduct initial affordability checks and gather necessary documentation.
Liaise with members, solicitors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth application progression.
Maintain accurate records and support compliance with the Central Bank of Ireland regulatory framework.
Provide excellent member service, ensuring clear communication throughout the loan journey.
Contribute to lending administration tasks as required.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Preparing reports for the credit committee and the board
Meet with the credit committee on a regular basis
Assist in growing the CU’s lending levels in a manner which is consistent with the credit unions strategic and risk management objectives.
Contribute to the ongoing development of appropriate credit policies, systems, procedures and practices.
Ensure the continued overall quality of the loan portfolio including assessing its risk profile and driving improvements by way of mitigating strategies at operational level.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
QFA or APA in Lending with 1 year previous experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and an ability to work with financial documents.
A customer‑focused approach with an eagerness to learn.
Competence in IT systems and administrative work.
Desirable
Knowledge of Credit Union ethos and lending practices.
