The Executive Director provides executive level support to include financial analysis, forecasts, and reports for the Vice President for Administration and Economic Development. Provide effective fiscal management of budgets totaling $61M, for the departments served by Administrative and Economic Development Business Services, to include Auxiliary Enterprises, EH&S, Emergency Management, Compliance, and Sustainability.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $161,600 to $189,699. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
Provide monthly accounting and financial reports – actual vs budget, compare year over year relevant to the various Department Heads, Executive Directors, Directors, and Chiefs.
Track, reconcile, and resolve various funding issues for all cost centers and fund types, which requires extensive knowledge concerning fund accounting (E&G appropriations, designated tuition, service cost centers, Auxiliary enterprises, and indirect cost recovery).
Monitor reserve balances and update/adjust for changes due to business continuity, debt service coverage and capital renewal. Also monitor and reconciliation of salary savings and their effective re-allocation.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget of approximately $158M for the Office of Administration and Economic Development.
Prepare annual budgets for the departments served by Administrative and Economic Development Business Services. This will include but not limited to developing income and expense projections for each department as well as recommendations for budget modifications.
Allocation and reconciliation of annual merit pool for the Office of Administration and Economic Development.
Ensure a strong internal control system is in place for all units reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Economic Development.
Review monthly Statements of Account reconciliations for the departments served by Administrative and Economic Development Business Services
Reconcile and monitor Chartwell’s Guaranteed Royalty payments for accuracy. Also includes reconciliation of all meal plans.
Prepare pro-formas, as needed, for large Capital Projects to include Auxiliary building projects overseen by the Office of Administration and Economic Development.
Monitor College Park Retail Leases to include proper rent/ CAM /Tax & Insurance, as well as annual reconciliation of taxes collected and paid to TAD.
Monitor completion of annual capital equipment inventory for the division.
Assist Vice President for Administration and Economic Development with special projects as needed.
Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate support staff. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to effective operations.
Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
Ten years of accounting experience.
Prior supervisory experience.
CPA or Master’s Degree with seven (7) years of accounting experience.
Experience in fund accounting.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office.
University or other government related experience.
Ability for critical thinking, problem solving.
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office suite.
