This is powered by AI-driven tutoring, mastery-oriented progression, and a fundamental redesign of traditional classroom paradigms. The outcomes speak for themselves. This role is not an exercise in academic abstraction. It is an operational leadership imperative. You will command the academic strategy in execution, establish unambiguous standards, surface gaps in delivery, and mentor elite teams toward tangible results. You will convert our scientific underpinnings into disciplined operations and champion this model to a global audience.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Designing academic structures that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum development, motivational architecture, and application interfaces.
  • Conducting academic performance audits with Heads of Academics to guarantee that school teams maintain alignment, accountability, and outcome delivery.
  • Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and field observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that pinpoint the most impactful obstacles to learning acceleration and recommend concrete solutions.
  • Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and progress monitoring to sustain concentration on student achievement objectives.
  • Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings—from international conference keynotes to consultations with national education authorities—to catalyze global shifts in educational thinking.

  • Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or practical implementation.
  • Transferring accountability for team performance to mid-level management or external advisors.
  • Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual frameworks to influence doubtful decision-makers.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and advance 2 Hour Learning's validated academic framework by standardizing implementation across school sites, raising leadership benchmarks, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement anchored in rigorous scientific evidence and demonstrable impact.

Basic Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
  • Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
  • Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
  • Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
  • Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
