Alpha School is demonstrating that significant literacy gains don't demand 6-hour school days. We combine AI-adaptive platforms with skilled teaching through our 2-Hour Learning model to accelerate reading progress. You will: create and implement workshops that produce measurable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for early elementary learners.
This role is not about administrative lesson planning. It's about evidence-based teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading curriculum that scales to thousands of students.

What You Will Be Doing
Conducting adaptive reading workshops that strengthen phonics, fluency, and comprehension Creating individualized motivational programming through gamified literacy checkpoints Reviewing student performance metrics to adjust teaching approaches and generate practical insights Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI-powered literacy platforms informed by real classroom outcomes Building scalable, AI-augmented materials that help early elementary learners reach grade-level reading proficiency
Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus advanced certification in reading instruction (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent) 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary students Capable of evaluating reading levels, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independent of pre-packaged curricula Comfortable with AI/adaptive learning technologies and attuned to student behavioral data Authorized to work in Puerto Rico without employer sponsorship Available to work on-site in Dorado, Puerto Rico

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
