Underground Electrical Estimator - Bid & Cost Specialist

In this role, the Electrical Estimator will be a key contributor to project planning by producing detailed and reliable cost estimates. Your input will help guide leadership decisions, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. You will work collaboratively with Project Managers, Operations teams, and clients to develop competitive pricing strategies, maintain cost control, and support proposal development, with a focus on underground electrical construction and related systems. Key Responsibilities Oversee the entire estimating and bidding process for assigned projects Monitor bid schedules from invitation through final award Source and evaluate new project opportunities when applicable Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to build precise estimates and proposals Attend pre-bid meetings and represent the company during bid submissions as needed Analyze contract terms to identify scope requirements, risks, and commercial considerations Compare current estimates with historical project data for accuracy Conduct site visits to assess project scope and feasibility Assist with submittal preparation and transition of awarded projects to operations Manage multiple estimates and deadlines concurrently Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 3 years experience in construction estimating; experience with electrical work is highly desirable Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements Familiarity with estimating tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid Excellent numerical, analytical, and quantity takeoff capabilities Background in construction operations or field experience is an advantage Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for working with vendors and contract stakeholders Ability to interpret electrical and civil drawings accurately Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines across multiple projects
