Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is seeking a highly motivated, detail-driven Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the agronomy team on the Highlands course. This position is ideal for an ambitious turf professional who thrives in a high-expectation environment and is driven to advance within the industry.

Designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, with later renovations performed by Bob Cupp, the Highlands reflects a thoughtful design approach that blends strategy, creativity and confident shotmaking. Set within rolling, glacier-formed terrain, this Scottish-inspired course unfolds through sweeping views and natural elevation changes, creating a scene that draws players into the timeless spirit of golf. Essential Functions

Daily course inspection

Communicate course conditions with superintendent, golf staff, and guests as appropriate

Position will be hands on; a working manager

Weekly scheduling of crew and assigning daily tasks

Interview and hiring of seasonal associates

Training of associates on equipment, procedures, and safety topics

Assist with scheduling and implementing chemical and fertilizer programs

Irrigation program setup, scheduling, and repair

Assist with course improvement projects

Communicate with mechanics for equipment issues/needs

Purchasing of materials and supplies for the golf course maintenance operation

Responsible for the daily maintenance of entire course in superintendent's absence

Campus snow removal

Qualifications

Strong desire to continue a career in golf course maintenance.

Turf management education

Turf maintenance / or related experience required

Knowledge of the game of golf

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

Ability to obtain Wisconsin pesticide certification within first year of employment

Management or supervisory experience of a crew of more than (10)

Must possess good organizational/time management skills

Able to develop camaraderie with team members

Act ethically and honestly in all business practices

Desire to build effective relationships with department heads, managers, supervisors, and industry vendors.

Attend manager functions and team-building events
