Remote Technical Writer!!
Job Description
As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive service manuals, repair kits, and maintenance manuals for machines under development. Your role will involve organizing content into clear chapters based on machine functions, and writing detailed step-by-step instructions after collaborating with engineering teams. You will review vendor information to include specifications, troubleshooting details, and repair information for various components such as engines, hydraulics, and clutches. You will also be responsible for writing addendums, taking photographs as required, and ensuring accuracy through a four-step review process.
Responsibilities
Write service manuals, repair kits, and maintenance manuals for machines in development.
Organize manuals into chapters based on machine functions.
Develop step-by-step instructions after consulting with engineering teams.
Review vendor information for specifications and repair details.
Create addendums for each manual.
Capture photographs and diagrams for manual inclusion.
Participate in a four-step review process and make necessary content corrections.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in technical writing and documentation. Strong engineering and writing skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word. Ability to edit and refine documentation. Familiarity with work instruction development. Additional Skills & Qualifications
A degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field. 2-4 years of technical writing experience, including academic experience. Previous experience writing for manufacturing environments is preferred. Work Environment This role is fully remote, with primary working hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. Regular communication with the team is conducted via Microsoft Teams. Attendance at the office is required 1-2 times per year for team events.
