Key job responsibilities

Design and own end-to-end customer solutions, shepherding them through the implementation lifecycle while combining business acumen with technical skills to architect solutions for complex problems.

Drive technical solution discussions with customer teams, diving deeply into details including design choices, best practices, and use cases.

Create and share technical content - such as sample code, blog posts, presentations, and workshops - to educate others and promote best practices.

Build consensus across customer teams by clearly articulating concepts and strategies, and leading resolution of contentious issues.

Identify opportunities to accelerate solution adoption by leveraging reusable assets that can benefit the broader customer community.

A day in the life

As a Senior Solutions Architect supporting a strategic customer, you'll begin your day aligning with internal stakeholders on customer priorities before joining customer calls to explore technical architecture and solution options. You'll spend time experimenting with new AWS services to address specific customer challenges and document your findings for broader use. Your afternoons may include architecture sessions where you design solutions for complex workloads, followed by building proof-of-concepts to demonstrate feasibility. You'll also create and share best practices with both internal teams and customers through technical content and hands-on sessions.

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

Preferred Qualifications

Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS

Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
