The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Compliance, Bureau of Organizational Workforce Development is seeking an Instructional Training Designer to join our team!
The
Instructional Training Designer
creates, develops and manages the agency’s in-house employee training based on information received through surveys and consultations. This position collaborates with stakeholders to create engaging training sessions to meet agency strategic initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Designs and develops
training materials, curriculum and resources for in-person and virtual learning
Identifies training needs
through surveys, consultations and stakeholder input
Creates and evaluates
effectiveness of training meeting goals and objectives
Oversees Workday Learning
assignments, registration and reporting
Assists in the development and coordination
of mentorship and Leading through Engagement, Activities and Discovery (LEAD)
Manages
the agency training calendar and all logistics
What We’re Looking For
Strong instructional design
and training development skills
Experience evaluating training
objectives and using feedback to improve learning
Comfort in Workday Learning
or similar learning management systems
Ability to create partnerships
and collaborate with all stakeholders
Preference will be given
to those with experience in Articulate Rise 360 and Canva

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Four years of full-time work experience in professional training, teaching, course development, facilitation, or counseling within an educational setting; professional human resources administration including such areas as job analysis, performance appraisal, selection devices, or labor relations; or a technical program area utilized by the employing agency.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work as described in number one.
Within a period of time after hire, as determined by the appointing authority, employees in this class may be required to obtain a Chauffeurs License and endorsements AA.
