
Outside Sales Representative - Compressed Air

PURPOSE
The Outside Sales Representative develops and maintains relationships with new and existing clients while managing the full sales process, including pipeline development, client needs assessment and building estimates and proposals. This role supports the “Client for Life” concept and requires a goal-oriented, team-focused approach to driving sales growth.
This role requires significant travel, with expectations of up to 80% based on business needs.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Conduct outside sales of technically advanced compressed air equipment, including compressors of various types and applications, air treatment equipment and aluminum piping systems.
Identify and target specific clients and markets within an assigned region.
Promote Baker Group by building strong partnerships with internal and external clients and industry professionals.
Assess client needs and deliver effective solutions and problem resolutions.
Communicate and position Baker Group capabilities to ensure clients’ needs are met.
Engage in high level cross‑selling opportunities with prospective clients.
Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline of new targets to support a sustainable book of business.
Assist with order entry, inventory coordination and product placement.
Minimum Education & Experience Required To Perform Essential Functions
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of five years of directly related experience
Experience/knowledge in compressed air systems
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Mental And Physical Competencies Required To Perform Essential Functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi‑task and meet strict deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
Ability to collaborate effectively to support and achieve shared goals
Environmental Adaptability
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally
May have occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
