
Account Manager

Job Overview
Position reports to Strategic Sales Director Food/Commercial and interfaces with customers, company managers & staff. Requires a high-energy self-starter who works independently, is company-oriented and committed to growth strategies, customer retention, and continuous customer engagement.
Exposures: CRM Sales Management Tool, E1 system, customer pricing and term details, contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales background in food or commercial products with 3+ years’ experience, managing 50+ accounts, responsible for $20+ million in sales revenue.
Screening of all non-medical leads to determine which will manage the account.
Existing Accounts: implementation of all agreements, renewal of existing agreements, review and approval of quarterly price increases and margins, review monthly/weekly volumes to identify customer issues affecting year‑end results.
Provide evaluation of customer issues and propose resolutions to the director, analyze data, seek legal approval of various contracts, and provide direct support regarding customer satisfaction and complaints.
Regulations: determine FDA regulations applications for the sterilization of food/packaging/animal food/pet treats to protect company liability.
Market Activities: regularly monitor the customer base for market trends, monitor FDA recalls, approvals, and petitions, provide industry intel to the Director, backup sales support for the Director during travel/vacation, and prepare PowerPoint presentations that help improve results.
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ knowledge of food, beverage, pet, or packaging industries.
Consistent results in increasing sales.
Good presentation skills.
Hands‑on and collaborative behavior.
Strong written management and communication skills.
Proficiency in Office package and data tools.
Undergraduate degree in Business or Science‑related field (advanced degree preferred).
Pay & Benefits Salary Range: $65,500 – $107,000 per year, depending on experience.
