Job Overview
Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Real Estate Legal Assistant to join a highly regarded law firm located in downtown Chicago. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 35‑hour work week, hybrid flexibility (in‑office approximately 10 days per month), strong benefits, and competitive compensation.
Responsibilities
At minimum 3+ years of commercial real estate experience (5+ preferred)
Prepare, draft, and edit legal documents and correspondence from draft to final
Assist with real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing matters
Prepare and manage closing documents, signature page packets, escrow instructions, and closing binders
Maintain and update transaction checklists, tracking deadlines, contingencies, and deliverables
Order and coordinate due diligence materials including zoning reports, surveys, water certifications, and title documents
Open new client matters and organize/maintain electronic case files and databases
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and track key dates using docketing systems
Process invoices, reimbursements, and assist with administrative support including travel coordination
Qualifications
Must have strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast‑paced environment
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), including formatting and redlining
Experience with Adobe Acrobat required; Visio, iManage, and HotDocs are a plus
Collaborative, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
