Rebecca Taylor is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Designer to join our
Women’s Ready-to-Wear (WRTW)
team. This role is ideal for a creative professional with
5+ years of contemporary design experience , strong technical skills, and a refined aesthetic aligned with the brand’s modern, feminine sensibility.
You’ll take part in developing seasonal collections from concept to final execution, contributing to both the creative direction and daily execution of the design process. The ideal candidate brings a proactive attitude, a strong sense of ownership, and a collaborative spirit to support the continued evolution of the Rebecca Taylor brand.
Key Responsibilities Creative Direction & Collection Development
Design brand-right WRTW collections that balance trend relevance with commercial viability.
Conduct trend and concept research in collaboration with the Design Director to establish seasonal direction.
Sketch multiple concepts in croqui form and translate into detailed flat sketches and design boards.
Contribute to color stories, print direction, fabric selection, and silhouette development.
Create mockups and drapes to help visualize and iterate on new design ideas.
Participate in fittings, offer design-focused feedback, and update tech packs accordingly.
Technical Design & Development
Build and maintain detailed development tech packs, including BOMs, construction details, and initial specs.
Ensure accuracy and clarity across all design documentation throughout the development process.
Adhere to the T&A calendar, ensuring timely progression from concept to final product.
Work cross-functionally with Technical Design, Product Development, Production, and Sales teams to align design vision with business objectives.
Participate in design reviews and product development milestones to support on-time deliverables.
Help guide and support
junior designers , delegating tasks as needed and offering constructive mentorship.
Contribute to a collaborative, supportive design culture that reflects the Rebecca Taylor values.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of professional experience in women’s contemporary design, with a focus on WRTW.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Procreate and Figma a plus.
A strong eye for proportion, detail, and silhouette with the ability to translate brand identity into wearable product.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Highly organized, efficient, and deadline-driven, with the ability to pivot when priorities shift.
Passionate about contemporary fashion, concept development, and creating beautiful, elevated product.
