Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com. The team you will be a part ofThe Senior Analyst of Trade Compliance will work as part of the Transportation and Trade Compliance team, collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible to meet the compliance and operational needs across the organization with a focus on compliance first and then

balancing service and cost. This includes working closely with Whirlpool's internal customers, customs brokers and 3rd party logistics providers to manage the company's inbound and outbound logistics network. Internally, the role requires cross-functional collaboration with government relations, legal and global strategic sourcing and other internal process partners. The Senior Analyst will also guide both internal team members and external partners responsible for trade compliance.This role in summaryThe Senior Analyst, Trade Compliance role is based in Benton Harbor, MI and reports to the Sr. Manager Trade Compliance.Your responsibilities will includeAssess potential risks related to US tariffs, quotas, and trade agreements in place (i.e.: 301, 232, 201, USMCA, AD/CVD, Canada Surtax…). Support action plan identification with cross-functional teams to mitigate tariffs impact, included but not limited to:DrawbackForeign Trade ZonesAnalysis of alternate Supply Chain and Trade Compliance strategiesFirst Sale reductionsCountry of Origin reviews & recommendationsUnderstand the global impact on Whirlpool regions based on retaliatory actions from other countries.

Engage with Procurement commodity teams, as well as process partners in Supply Chain, Government Relations and Engineering with reporting requirements to Sr LeadershipSupport accurate financial reporting (Outlook, P4G, Profit Planning, Financial Close)Managing the new financial model which identifies deviations to duties & tariffs paid including:Run the model, evaluate and interpret the resultsDetermine where/when to actDetermine & implement the course of actionPartner with Engineering and GSS to establish more sustainable and proactive governance programs to ensure new parts or newly sourced parts are fully compliance on Day 1Drive process improvement on monthly accrualsEstablish and drive oversight as we stand up the new Bonded Warehouse or expand FTZ’s Conduct regular internal audits and assessments of trade compliance practices to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in compliance with import/export regulationsContribute to management systems refinement and methods to continually improve governance and data availabilityEnsure compliance with all U.S. and Canadian import/export laws, including preparation, review, and submission of accurate customs declarations, shipping documents, responding, and reporting to government agencies (CBP, CBSA, etc.), while keeping abreast of evolving trade regulations.Minimum requirements3+ years of experience in Trade Compliance with familiarity/expertise to include tariff classification, duty assessment, valuation, foreign trade zones and/or country of origin determinationExcellent Communication SkillsStrong Analytical & Problem-Solving SkillsStrong proficiency in the Google suite of tools & Microsoft Suite of toolsProject Management ExperienceBachelors Degree Preferred skills and experiencesLicensed Customs BrokerProficiency in Trade Compliance Software & ToolsKnowledge of Audit and Enforcement PracticesKnowledge of SAPExperience in the broader supply chain and/or Procurement a plusIndividual should be adaptable to a fast paced and demanding environmentDemonstrated ability to work cross-functional and lead process partners towards a common goalUse problem solving skills to find new and creative ways for process improvement and cost reductionDetail oriented, but also able to see the "big picture" Additional informationWhirlpool’s Ways of WorkingOur goal is to provide an environment that helps you bring your best to Whirlpool every day.
