Position Summary The Director of Research Finance Operations & Analysis provides strategic and operational oversight of financial activities supporting research infrastructure, including the Clinical Research Center (CRC), Core Facilities, and Comparative Medicine. The Director ensures financial sustainability, compliance with federal and institutional regulations, and the delivery of high‑quality financial analytics to support informed decision‑making across the research enterprise.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational oversight of financial activities for research infrastructure.
Ensure financial sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Deliver high‑quality financial analytics to support decision‑making across the research enterprise.
Manage financial planning, rate development, revenue forecasting, and performance analytics.
Oversee finance managers to implement best practices in cost recovery, rate setting, and financial operations.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field.
Experience:
5 years progressive financial leadership experience in academic research or healthcare.
Computer Applications:
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards, ability to work with a diverse group, strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in service center rate development and financial modeling.
Licenses:
CMA, FRA.
Computer Applications:
SAP, Microsoft Outlook.
KSA:
Strong organizational and communication skills; financial and grant management highly desirable; understanding of pre‑award budget preparation, IRB/IACUC protocols, post‑award administration; knowledge of federal/state/local regulations (A‑21, A‑133); ability to act as liaison with sponsors, subcontractors, collaborators.
