Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents in detail
Perform mechanical takeoffs for plumbing, HVAC, piping, fittings, valves, and equipment
Prepare accurate bid summaries and support proposal development from start to finish
Solicit pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers
Submit RFIs and clarify scope, exclusions, and project requirements
Provide input on schedules, scope strategy, and estimate development
Coordinate closely with internal estimating leadership throughout the bid process
Support bids on commercial and industrial projects including facilities such as healthcare, education, and mission‑critical environments
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Mechanical Estimator in plumbing and HVAC required
Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience preparing detailed takeoffs and compiling complete estimates
Comfortable communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is
$90,000 - $120,000 , depending on experience and overall compensation needs
Comprehensive health insurance options (HMO and HSA plans available)
Employer covers ~80% of medical premiums (employee contributes pre‑tax)
401(k) plan
Paid time off / vacation
Additional Information
100% in‑office position
Schedule: Monday ‑ Friday (8:00 am ‑ 4:30 pm) with infrequent occasional weekends
